Hearing from government, academia and the private sector, this event will explore recent trends in travel demand across Britain and their causes, and how plans for devolved governance will place new requirements on our forecasting and appraisal methods. Using international experience and recent developments in the UK, it will examine how forecasting and appraisal methods can be modified to better meet the devolution agenda and lead to transport investments which meet both local and national economic and social aspirations for the benefit of society.

You will see a sign for ‘UCL Art Museum’ and a door just to the right signed ‘South Cloisters’. Go through there, walk straight ahead across the hall and you will see the entrance to the Garden Roof Terrace.

If however, you do not arrive in time for registration and refreshments and the conference has commenced, please make your way directly to the Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre located on the second floor, at the junction between the South Cloisters and the South Wing.  Follow the instructions on entering the site as above. But enter by the door in the corner of quad, further to the right of the ‘UCL Art Museum’ sign. Turn to the right and you will see a staircase, which you should take to the second floor.
